March is here!!!! Time to get out of our Snuggies and get off the couch!!!
I am always excited each year when we get into March, but this year I am beyond excited!!!! I think all of Iowa is excited about March this year!!!! It means Spring is coming and the weather is warming up!!! No more snow storms, please!!!!!
March is also special in our house with Maddy and Jeremy's b-days --- One of our favorite months!!

The man with many names.......

Maddy has many nicknames for Colby and comes up with new ones weekly. It is very humorous to Jeremy and I, so I thought I should document these before we forget:

Colbster
Sholby
Purple-Brrr
Gluey

Wow, I am already forgetting a couple --- They will come to me and I'll get them posted. Basically, she calls him anything BUT Colby --- Now that he's 1, I guess I need to make sure he knows what his real name is!! ;-) Apparently he should be talking already??? My doctor was asking what words he knows and I think he can say mama and dada, but not really on cue --- hmmmm, maybe need to work on this a little.....I think he has a mom and a sister that do most of the talking around here, and he hasn't had much of a chance!.....sorry Colby!

Weight-Loss Challenge - COMPLETE!!!!

So, it's official --- As of today my weight loss challenge is done!!! I have hit that number on the scale that I have been working towards since Nov. 1st --- I am about a week late on my goal (to lose the baby weight by Colby's 1st b-day), but I guess life happens and kids/parents get sick and things sometimes have to wait. I am going to continue my work-out routine, healthy eating, etc...as it just makes me feel so much better --- plus, I don't want to gain back what I worked so hard to lose!
I am thankful that I've had the time to focus on my health this past year -- Hopefully Spring will get here soon and I can actually enjoy working out again by taking walks/runs outside.
The biggest thing I've learned through this diet the past few months is that goals are good to have but sometimes you have to give yourself a break as life happens and it is not always predictable (especially when young kids are involved ;-)) Also, just because you have one bad day/week with working out/eating does not mean you need to give up. You can always make up for that by starting fresh the next day!!

A couple funny videos.......

Colby LOVES the stairs --- If the gate is ever left open, he knows it and will go as fast as he can to get to those stairs. He knows he is not supposed to climb the stairs, however, and he trys to be sneaky about it....I think his squeals and laughs give it away every time though ;-)

Colby is walking all over now. For some reason it has been hard for me to capture on video as he freezes up when I try to video tape him walking. Here is a little clip we got the other day of him walking and pushing Maddy around on a little toy he got for his b-day:

Colby Turns 1!!!

Colby turned 1 yesterday and I can hardly believe it! This first year has gone by so quickly and he is really changing and is not so much a baby anymore. It is a little sad to realize those baby days are coming to an end, but it is cool to see his personality more and more each day.

He is walking all over the place now and is extremely active! I chase him around all day long and he never stops!!!! He does not like to sit in strollers, shopping carts, etc....always wants to be moving!! You would think I would be a little annoyed about this fact (which at times I guess I am) but I just love the fact that Colby is such an active little boy. I remember being a little nervous aobut having a boy and how I was going to keep up with him, etc....But, he just has so much fun and wants to do it all and it's really neat to watch him go.

He definately still has a very up and down personality. He will be extremely happy or extremely mad. He has been like this from day one. The happy moments definately make up for these extremes, though!!

This past year has been such a whirlwind -- Jeremy and I always joked after Maddy was born that parents had this little secret about what life is like with a baby and you don't find that out until you have one. Well.....I think parents might also have a 2nd little secret about what life is like when you add a 2nd child --- It was definately a huge transition for us and we seem to be playing catch-up a lot of the time, but it is so worth it!!! Maddy and Colby really love being around each other and I love watching them together!!!

It is very fun having a boy as well. Boys seem to have this little spark about them that just makes you appreciate life more and Colby has definately showed us that this year. We feel very blessed to have Colby in our lives and look forward to everything this next year has in store for him!!!!

Daddy/Daughter Dance

Last Friday night was the Daddy/daughter dance at our church. This was Maddy and Jeremy's 2nd time going and they had a great time. Jeremy was sick with a sinus infection, but didn't let that stop him! I stayed home with Colby in the nice warm house, which I'll have to admit was pretty nice ;-)
