Colby's Dog-Gone 2nd Birthday Party!

We had Colby's 2nd birthday party last Saturday with some of his aunts, uncles, cousins and a couple of neighbor friends of Maddy and Colby's. Since Colby loves dogs, we decided to go with a dog themed party. My sister Sarah made a bunch of cool signs for the party and I made a puppy cake. It was a lot of fun!! Still hard to believe that our little boy is 2!! Here are a few pics from the party. Lots more to be found on Facebook!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Colby!!!

Happy Birthday to Colby!!!! I can't believe he is 2!! It's unbelieveable how many things can change in 2 years. Colby has become such a sweet, funny little boy and he makes all of us laugh everyday -- I couldn't think of a better gift in our lives!!

He is smart, curious, active, fun, funny, independent, and very social (he says 'hi' and 'bye' to everyone he sees and even makes sure to go up to the greeter at church to shake hands)!!! We love him so much and it seems like he is doing new things each and every week! Jeremy and I often find ourselves saying to one another --- "Oh, by the way, do you know what Colby's new thing is now?!?!?" It's so funny and he loves being in the center of all the action!

He can't wait for Jeremy to get home from work each night and has really become attached to him --- He loves his dad and follows him around everywhere when he is home. He loves to play with any and every ball in sight (and can catch, throw and kick like nothing I've ever seen for a boy his age). He loves to run around with Maddy and she is such a good big sister to him. Yes, they fight over things, but then are playing 2 minutes later and having a good time --- Our entire family dynamic has changed completely in the past 2 years and we wouldn't have it any other way!!!!

Colby, you have been the best gift to our family and we all love you very much!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Here is one of our favorite words that Colby has been saying lately. As you can tell, the 'L' sound is a little tricky! ;-) (remember to pause the music on the right side of the screen first :-))

Cousins!!

We babysat Ben and Jordyn last weekend and the kids had a great time playing together and watching movies:

Jordyn and Colby playing together:

Maddy, Ben and Jordyn watching a movie (It was funny because Maddy kept asking Ben questions during the movie and finally Ben said, "Can we just watch the movie, Maddy??!!" Ha! Brought back memories of my younger years!)

Snow Days!!

We had quite the storm this week and Maddy got out of school early on Tuesday and had no school on Wednesday! It did warm up a little later in the day on Wednesday, so Maddy got to play outside for awhile with a couple of her neighbor friends:

Play Hard, Sleep Hard......

I have to give Colby some credit here for being an exceptional sleeper. Even back when he was a newborn, he would take these super long naps and I always wondered why and how could he sleep that much!!! Well, after almost 2 years of wondering this and questioning if something is wrong, etc...I have come to realize this is just how his body is! Our doctor has re-affirmed this and told us to just enjoy it and stop worrying! Ha!

When he is awake he plays so hard and never stops moving, exploring (aka: getting into things he shouldn't :-)), learning, jumping, running.....And when it's time for him to sleep he crashes (and most days, so do I! ;-))

Here is a picture of Colby right before I woke him up from his nap the other day(which has become a regular occurence, since he ends up sleeping so late!)

Colby and his crib tent! Thanks to Josh and Missy for letting us borrow this! Colby can pull his body up out of his crib with just his arms alone and we are not ready for a toddler bed yet!!

My LIttle Helper....

Colby has been loving helping out around the house lately. He loves to throw things away for us or get his own cup, bowl, spoon,etc...Lately his "help" has gotten a little pricey as earlier in the week he dumped a bunch of Chuckie Cheese tokens down the kitchen drain and 2 of them got stuck in the garbage disposal and we couldn't get them out. After calling the plumber and spending $80, we were able to use the sink again!!

Here he is helping me with the laundry, one of his favorite things to do!!

Cool Picture -

We had 2 deer behind the fence in our backyard this past weekend. It was neat to watch them through our Living room window:
